tbh nothing frustrates me more then when people brush off classics like pride and prejudice or jane eyre because they don’t fit into today’s modern standards of feminism and social justice etc.

remember that these novels were published in the 19th century. and that some of the things that were written in these books may seem trivial to us today but would have absolutely fucking shook readers in the victorian era

like,,,,,elizabeth rejecting mr collins because she doesn’t love him even though it would have been considered her duty in her family to marry him? or jane eyre not agreeing to marry mr rochester unless it was on her own terms? hell even anne brontë wrote a lesser known novel about a wife leaving her abusive husband with her five year old son to live a better life?? do y’all realize how unheard of that would be in the 1800′s?? where women were considered more of a commodity than actual human beings??

even though they might not be up to todays standards of modern feminism and romance, they were still HUGE building blocks for equality for that time period. so if you’re a reader who says to themselves ‘I read classics with modern standards applied and I can’t get past that’ then you are most likely going to be disappointed when reading classics and not fully understand their significance to that time period 

Guess what? People are allowed to miss the murderous and dark aspects of Hannigram. That’s a thing people are allowed to do. It’s not a crime to dislike fluff. 

It’s also not a crime to blog about it on their own tumblrs.

So I work at a video game store in a mall and across the hall from us is this really nice suit shop. One day one of the guys came in an asked if they could use our microwave (the store they used to go to closed down) and we bargined for use of their bathroom in return since the mall bathrooms are like a 5 min trek.

So for like three months now we just have these men in really nice suits come in and talk while using our microwave and teach them about nerdy shit? Then I, the goblin king in various shitty tee shirts and paint stained pants, walk into their super expensive store and just get greeted with “Yo dude what’s good?” and talk about the pains of steaming silken dress shirts properly and it’s my favorite business interaction every day

A new jewelry store opened up right next to our store and when I used the bathroom today we were talking about it. I hate it on principle (they flooded our systems closet during building) and immediately both Suit Guys™ working went on mini rants. “Their suits are baggy as hell, I wouldn’t trust them to sell me a $9,000 ring when they can’t get a fitted jacket. They look so unprofessional, ” and “I saw one of the dude’s wearing a teal shirt. It’s fall, and you go with teal? At least get a color to match your store if you’re gonna ignore the seasons like that, Christ, but teal is awful.”

I live for this commentary fam.

Sweetie it’s NOT your writing! I am not a creator myself but I have noticed several times that not every post from the people I follow will show up on my dash, even though I visit tumblr regularly. I don’t know what kind of algorithm they employ, but really sometimes stuff will just not show up. I really don’t think it is your writing because you are one of everybody’s fave and you do so much for this fandom and we love you.

If it is then it is. I know I’m not the best writer in the fandom or in general so I have to stop thinking too much.

I appreciate you saying you enjoy what I put out. I may not have been answering comments lately but I do read them as much as I don’t think I deserve them.

I’m just going to do my own thing and try not to worry. It’s not worth my mental health to put so much emphasis on this. I might not be good enough for fan art, thousands of kudos, or even anthologies but I LOVE writing. I love the characters even if I don’t always stay IN character. I’m not the most popular or the best behaved but fuck it I’m ME.

Nothing is gonna stop me from having fun any more, not even my own self.
