Fannibals I need your thoughts

I’m just putting feelers out to the community on whether or not you would be interested in participating in a reverse big bang. One where the artists create the art and the story synopsis and then authors come in to make it happen.

It offers artists a greater hand in the story process than regular bangs do.

I’m a co-moderator for murder-husbands big bang and would likely run the reverse bang as a sister bang.

I’d like to know if artists and authors are interested and what sort of timing they’d like for creating.

If you’ve missed the latest fandom wank, here’s what’s going on. Madancy fics tagged “Hannibal (TV)” have been reported to AO3 as being tagged incorrectly, even when the “Hannibal (TV) RPF” tag is used alongside. Appeals have been made to AO3; so far, the only responses are rude and threatening. Nobody should have to worry about fic deletion or banning just because they write a rare pair.

The best way to circumvent this nastiness and prevent further conflict is to just make a new tag for rare pairs. Enter the new fandom tag, “Hannibal Extended Universe”.

This will be a brand new listing on AO3 for all of our rare pairs: Spacedogs, Madancy, Basic Chickens, Valhalla Enchanted, and on and on and on. Instead of tagging “Hannibal (TV)” for a rare pair fic, you would put “Hannibal Extended Universe”. It won’t be a selectable tag in the fandom drop-down box until the AO3 tag wranglers see enough instances of it to make it searchable, so we’ll have to type it in for the time being. After discussion over twitter and in chats, fannibals have reached a consensus that the creation of a subfandom umbrella is finally necessary.

I don’t want to see any of our beloved rare pairs suffer, and this actually makes it easier to look specifically for rare pair fic. Please, spread the word; let’s make this happen.

Femslash February for Hannibal

Hello, Fannibal family!!! I saw a post from @galacticcoyote and realized that there was nothing planned so far for Femslash February for the Hannibal fandom, so I thought I might help get the ball rolling. If you’re new to Femslash February, the rules are simple:

For the month of February, creators can take a challenge to make two works for one or more female/female pairings. These works can be anything from fanfics to mood boards to artwork. Anything you can create counts, and everyone would love to see it! Below is a prompt calendar to help with ideas, but your creations are by now means limited to these prompts.

Once you are ready to post your work, tag #femslashfebruary and #fannibalfemslash2018 and you’re done! That’s all the info you need to start creating and adding to the f/f content for the fandom. Happy creating!
