I don’t think you want to kill puppies I just think you’re putting hetero-normative ideas concerning the giving and receiving of sex onto homosexual couples, which is deeply unhelpful.
“I don’t usually engage in discourse BUT” opens you up to discourse, whether it’s something of this nature, about why certain assumptions concerning who tops and bottoms is dangerous for people or whether it’s people going “actually, Bryan Fuller who is the head of the team of people actually writing these characters has said they flip and he’s no fool.”
It’s taken YEARS of really hard work to get this fandom to a point where people aren’t hounded out of fandom for writing bottom!hannibal, so yeah, that’s the background, we’re pretty protective of the work we’ve done. Sorry not sorry.

Before we wrap up, I have to ask, what’s the update with Hannibal?
The update is that it’s back and forth all the time. [Hannibal and Arctic producer] Martha de Laurentiis was actually the reason I read Arctic. I had it lower in the pile, but she called me and said to move it to the top of the pile. She came in as a guiding angel. Three or four months ago we thought there was something happening with Hannibal. We got really close, but it didn’t happen. It’s still in the works, so who knows? I’m completely sure that everyone will abandon whatever else they are doing for Hannibal.
