Spacedogs AU: The Fifth Element

Nigel was having a shit fucking day.

He’d lost his wife, forgot to feed the cat, and got almost all the points taken off his license for a stupid traffic violation. How was he to know that bus full of kids meant a school zone?

The final ride of his route had to bring in a goddamn miracle cab fare if this was going to be salvaged at all.

He opens his eyes and sees a man watching him, an odd one who looks nothing like he remembers his counterparts to be.

The words fly out of his mouth and the man smiles, mouth turned up rather nicely and he can’t help but touch the barrier that separates them.

“You look perfect to me.”

He understands little but the words seem right, and he smiles.

“Nigel,” the man says, “That’s my name.”

He doesn’t know what that means but repeats it anyway. “Nigel.”

Nigel touches their palms together.

“Where’d you come from?”

Just then the loud noise interrupts them,

“THIS IS THE POLICE. HAND OVER THE SUSPECT OVER WE WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO–”

He covers his head as memories of crashing and pain, screams and terror, fill his mind till all he can do is scream.

“Like fuck I will,” is the last thing he hears before it all turns black.

Let Me Count The Ways by nightliferogue

For @cumberninjas

There were many things he loved about Nigel and Adam was learning each one day by day.

He loved when Nigel laughed so hard he started to cry when Adam tickled him shaking with giggles into Adam’s shoulder as he begged him to stop but never once pushed him away even though he easily could.

He loved when Nigel whispered words in Romanian to him sometimes when he thought Adam was asleep, his voice thick with emotion as he stumbled over the words that Adam was sure he meant.

He loved that Nigel wore his wedding ring even when they showered despite almost losing it half a dozen times down the drain and when Adam asked why he didn’t just take it off he asked, “Why would I ever do that?”

He loved the smell of Nigel after he smoked on the balcony, the rich scent of nicotine that he hated on everyone else but on Nigel smelled like home.

He loved it when Nigel called him Star, and sang, “Twinkle, twinkle, little Star,” sometimes before bringing Adam to orgasm just to hear Adam’s surprised laugh before he came.

He loved it when Nigel held him close when he was upset, his arms so very welcome and strong as he pressed kisses to Adam’s cheek and listened as Adam recited the constellations.

But most of all he loved all the ways Nigel loved him: hard and soft, tender and tantalizing, fierce and calm.

Adam loved Nigel.

He couldn’t wait to see the other things he’d learn he loved Nigel with a lifetime ahead of them.

****

Nigel had never known it was possible to love so many different things about someone until he fell in love with Adam.

He loved when Adam tickled him thinking it was a surprise attack when Nigel always knew it was coming the twinkle in his star’s eye making it worth the torture.

He loved it when Adam would tell him stories at night about the planets and solar fucking systems, the excitement in his voice making Nigel hang on every single word.

He loved Adam’s expression the moment Nigel was inside him, the perfect oh of his mouth as he moaned and always fucking narrated each feeling when Nigel went in deeper.

He loved the surprise in Adam’s eyes each time Nigel came home, the shock melting into mischievous intent when he’d press a sloppy kiss to Nigel’s mouth and say, “I missed you.”

He loved the way Adam always asked about his past like he’d never heard a single one of his stories before, the rapt attention in his eyes on each and every word.

He loved the whispers of constellations Adam recited in his ear when he was upset, the welcoming of his arms and soft kisses during times when they shouldn’t be welcomed at all.

But most of all he loved that Adam continued to love him despite every mistake and fuck up, despite every reason to run away to someone better, even knowing that Nigel fucked one marriage up already he trusted that Nigel wouldn’t ruin them.

Nigel fucking loved Adam.

He couldn’t wait to see how many more things he would learn he loved about his Star for however long he could keep Adam in his arms.

The first time he got kicked out after sex with Adam, Nigel tried not to feel rejected. His Star wasn’t used to sharing a bed with someone and Nigel wasn’t gonna push.

Really who needed to fucking cuddle anyway?

It became routine, fuck and go. He started to get used to it even though part of Nigel wondered what sleeping next to Adam would be like. Would he snore? Kick? Cling?

Still Nigel was fine with it, really he was, content to cuddle a bit on the couch watching films or whenever Adam was comfortable.

They were dating for almost four months when Adam started to act odd before Nigel left. He tried to keep the sex going even after they’d exhausted themselves, rubbing on Nigel and even sort of oddly hanging onto him.

Nigel thought about staying, sometimes even held him till he fell asleep but reminded himself Adam didn’t want that. He still recalled that first night when Adam said “I don’t want you to sleep here,” and didn’t want to hear him say those words again.

So he left and kept leaving.

Nigel Ibanescu is a notorious kept gentleman and con artist, though most of his conquests don’t know him as the latter until it’s too late. He’s very good at what he does, cold and calculating in the process while being careful to remain a doted lover in disguise.

He’s never come across any rich fucker he didn’t want to steal from.

Until he meets Michael Raki’s son Adam.

Adam Raki, the only son of media mogul Michael Raki, is forced to come to his father’s twenty year celebration of Raki Enterprises. He is uncomfortable and does not talk to many people, though the few he does interact with do not come away with a good impression.

Nigel is not one of those people.

Before long they become more than friends and it only takes one fuck up for every word Nigel has said to seem like a lie. He tries everything he can to get Adam to listen to no avail so Nigel does the only thing he can do.

Speaks his heart.

All over town.

Can he win back the love of his life before he’s spent all his money in hopes for a response?

Or has Nigel been the one who lost something for the first time in his pathetic fucking life that he can never get back?

The library is far enough away that Adam knows he can remain undisturbed if he remained there the rest of the night. He slipped in as soon as the hallway was clear and closed the door behind him,

He sighed and turned to put his back to the door.

“Hiding, darling?”

Adam turned and saw a man sitting at his father’s desk with his feet up and an empty wine glass beside him. The man was wearing a tuxedo like the rest of the guests and smoking a cigarette, he could smell it from here and wondered why the smoke detector hadn’t gone off yet.

“I don’t like parties,” he said, “Or people.”

The man laughed. “Neither do I, especially this crowd.”

Adam frowned. “You can’t smoke in here.”

The man grinned. “No?”

“My father–”

“You’re Raki’s son.”

“Yes. My father will be upset to smell it.”

The man’s smile seemed to widen. “Like I give a fuck,” he lifted the empty wine glass, “Does it upset you, gorgeous?”

Adam blushed, “I don’t like the smell.”

He was surprised when the man put out his cigarette into the wine glass and set the makeshift ashtray down on the desk again.

“If it’s upsetting you, I’ll make an exception. What’s your name?”

“You don’t know? My father was telling everyone.”

“Nah,” he put his feet down and leaned forward on the desk, “I haven’t paid attention to a single word said tonight. But now I wish I had.”

Adam looked at his shoes, uncomfortable and tight still. He wanted to take them off but wondered what the man would think of that.

“Adam.”

“Adam, beautiful Adam.”

He looked up at the words and saw the man had moved closer to him, almost close enough to touch. Adam backed up and frowned. “I don’t know you.”

The smoking man held out his hand and Adam shook it.

“Nigel Ibanescu.”

Nigel.

The name echoed in his mind for a moment and Adam wondered if Nigel was flirting with him. He hadn’t been flirted with many times before but he thought maybe this might be one of those times.

“Are you sexually interested in me?”

Nigel grinned and moved closer. “Abso-fucking-lutely.”

Spacedogs AU: Balaur

They call him Balaur.

Adam hears the name said in fear as the man tears through the security team like nothing.

He says his name is Nigel, that he’s killed many people and that he’ll kill many more.

Adam believes him even before he watches Nigel kill his father.

Soon he will see things no one should ever have to see and hear things no one should ever have to hear, but he’ll also end up in Nigel’s bed.

Despite everything that happens and a lot does happen, he doesn’t want to leave.

Nigel won’t let him stay.

Adam can see it in his eyes, the hard anger and the words that come out of his mouth are mean.

“You’re useless, Adam. What the fuck do you think I kept you around for the last few days? Your fascinating theories on stars? No I wanted to get my dick wet and you helped me out. Now you need to fucking go.”

Adam’s lower lip trembles.

“You’re lying.”

Nigel rushes up to him with sudden force, pushes Adam against the wall and puts a gun to his head.

“You’re a waste of space and I’m done with you.”

Adam lets out a shaky breath. “You don’t scare me.”

He hears the sound of the gun as it cocks and sees the slight change in Nigel’s face when he doesn’t push him away.

“Star,” Nigel’s voice breaks, “Please.”

“If you’re worried about me,” Adam says softly, his hands shaking and his entire body on alert, “Teach me.”

Nigel laughs and it sounds like crying. “Teach you? To fucking what?”

Adam puts his hands over Nigel’s and turns the gun to press against his forehead. “To pull this trigger on everyone but you.”
